"My mind now expects to take in information the way the Net distributes it: in a swiftly moving stream of particles. Once I was a scuba diver in the sea of words. Now i zip along the surface like a guy on a Jet Ski" (60).
I feel that this has happened to me somewhat, and it happens to many people, especially teenagers. We now have access to so much information and all of it is so easily accessible. If we want to find out about a certain person 300 years ago we can just type it in google, then while we read the first few sentences we see a link to a new person, and click it. We can easily skip from topic to topic, and doing so we don't get the same in-depth knowledge of things.
I agree, and that is how any internet media is setup, for quick information.
ReplyDeleteI agree with this too. When I am on a google I get caught up in so many different things and not even realize it.
