"Bruce Friedman, who blogs regularlyabout the use of computers in medicine, also has described how the internet has altered his mental habits. "I now hve almost totally lost the ability to read and absorb a longish article on the web or in print,"...His thinking, he said, has taken a "staccato" quality, reflecting the way he quickly scans short passages of texts from many sources online". (pg. 60)

Friedman claims that he is not able to think through and process that much information at the in depth level he used to be able to. He believes that his brain is no longer wired for deep thinking about text, but I disagree. I think (I hope) that it is simply our attention spans that are struggling somewhat. We all should still be able to "get lost" in a book, though it may take several tries.
